HERITAGE BARNS RESTORATION PROJECT
The Mount Barker District Council are exploring options for the restoration and future use of three historic stone barns located at 391 Bald Hills Road, Mount Barker. The land forms part of the broader Summit Precinct.
The Council is seeking visionary proponents with the experience and financial capacity to deliver a commercially viable model that honours the site's rich history while delivering outstanding community and economic benefits.
Expressions of interest (EOI) are being sought from the private sector and qualified consortiums for a long-term ground lease to develop and lead the adaptive reuse of the heritage barns.
The approximate land area of the barns and surrounding open space is 4,000sqm
Expressions of interest are open from Thursday 10 September and close at 5pm Friday 20 November 2026.
Proposals must satisfy community benefit, deliverability/experience/risk, heritage and cultural alignment, economic benefit, and strategic alignment to the Summit Precinct vision.
Submissions will be evaluated by Council’s Tender Evaluation Panel against the assessment criteria and preferred respondents will be invited into formal negotiations.
